A Schoolwide Title I Program

Susquenita Elementary School receives Title I funding to provide supplemental educational support/intervention to students demonstrating an academic need. ALL students are eligible to receive these additional services in both Reading and Mathematics regardless of economic situation. Even if your child does not directly work with intervention staff, he or she may work in small groups or in a classroom with additional support from time to time. We have identified ways that we can all work together to help every student reach his or her academic potential.

Susquenita Elementary School will:
* deliver developmentally appropriate instruction and a high-quality curriculum to all students, in face-to-face setting or through remote learning.
* offer academic feedback to families through report cards and additional progress reports linked to assessment data
* provide opportunity for family involvement during the Parent Advisory Council/Activity nights held throughout the year, in person or virtually.
* arrange for parents to meet with the classroom teacher and/or intervention staff teacher during parent-teacher conferences.
* allow access to teaching staff for conversations through email, telephone, Canvas, Zoom or in-person.
Role of the Parent/Guardian
As a parent/guardian, I agree to:
* ensure my child attends school virtually or in-person (unless there is a valid reason for absence) and is prepared for a successful day at school, every day.
* make every effort to spend a minimum of 30 minutes a day with my child working on reading and/or math outside of their regular instruction (including homework)
* make every effort to attend Back-to-School Night, Parent Advisory Council meetings, Parent-Teacher conferences, and/or Activity Nights.
* communicate with my child's teachers so I am aware of how I can help him or her be successful in school.
* promote positive use of my child's time outside of school.
