We are the Compost Working Group for Beacon, NY. We are reaching out to request feedback on your experience and interest in municipal composting for the City of Beacon.
Composting is a regenerative way to dispose of food scraps - reducing nonrenewable landfill and incineration waste. Food breaks down and becomes nutrient rich soil which is great for fertilizer. As erosion increases, soil is also necessary for protecting watersheds. With a 2020 population of 14,629 (World Population Review) in Beacon, just imagine how much soil we could produce. With composting, we will make our river, creeks, and air cleaner for our next generation.
*If you are interested in being on the compost committee, mention it in the last question!
Thank you for your time!
