Join us Dec. 4, 2021 for a fun, interactive, and creative workshop hosted by urban planner and community activist James Rojas! Place It! workshops utilize an innovative method of community engagement through storytelling, objects, and art-making. By tapping into people's memories, needs, and aspirations of place, Place It! workshops give participants the creative license to reimagine, reflect, and construct urban solutions and aspirations.
"The language of the city is visual, spatial, and emotional. Therefore participants can easily articulate this language by choosing and placement of the objects on imaginary maps to tell their story. Their dioramas reveal their emotional and physical connections to the environment. By building their memories, experiences, and aspirations with objects participants quickly realize they are their own expert ‘planners’ of their environment."
