Parent and Community Civility Survey
Dear Knappa Parent/Stakeholder,  In 2022, the Knappa School Board adopted a policy on community civility.  This survey is designed to get your feedback on the commitments the community made to civility in the schools and expectations of others within the school system.  We would appreciate it if you could answer a few questions so we can gauge how things are going.  This information will be gathered and will be the subject of an upcoming Superintendent Chat.  This survey does not track who each individual response came from.

As a parent, do you remain committed to the following when interacting with Knappa School District students, faculty, staff, coaches, and administrators?
I am strongly opposed to this commitment
Not sure I can commit to this
I remain committed to this
keeping the best interests of students first
being genuine
actively listening and trying to understand the other person's perspective
listening to listen and not just to respond
going to the source of the problem or concern
suspending judgment until after hearing and understanding all perspectives
showing up and being present especially when conflict exists
fostering respectful engagements
acknowledging that everyone, especially our teachers, are well intentioned
How do you feel about the following expectations of others?
I do not have this expectation
This remains an expectation
I feel strongly that this should remain an expectation
the district to treat every child equitably and with respect and dignity
the staff to enforce school rules to ensure a safe and caring environment
to investigate complaints and take appropriate actions promptly
the district to use resources wisely, especially focusing on high quality educational materials
others to act with the best intentions
that others act with transparency and honesty
that social media not to be a useful tool to solve problems
to seek partnership and collaboration with school staff when issues arise
for parents and teachers to have timely conversations about students, especially when students or concerns arise
that the KSD communicate and publish a flowchart where parents can take issues or concerns
our community to be aware and engaged in what is happening in the schools
Thank you for responding to the survey
