My signature below stands as an acknowledgement and agreement to the following policy:

By attending programs put on by Karuna Retreats, Co, and by paying at least one dollar, ($1), which is included in my event fee, I agree to become a lifetime, supporting, non-voting member of Karuna Retreats, Co. My intention is to support this business, which is focused on healing and community events. I can receive information by e-mail and attend open meetings if desired.
1. Karuna Retreats, Co, and it’s owner (Amara Karuna, hereafter referred to as “Karuna Retreats”), and La'akea Permaculture Community LLC (hereafter referred to as "La'akea Permaculture Community") reserve the right to refuse anyone access to the events. “Karuna Retreats” and it’s owners and "La'akea Permaculture Community" are not responsible for on site or off site accidents or injury, or for loss of money or any other personal possessions incurred by myself, family, or associates. Instructions or advice presented at “Karuna Retreats” events are in no way intended as a substitute for professional medical or psychological counsel. Not all physical activities are suitable for everyone and could result in injury.

2. I understand that the activities involved in this Program (including but not limited to emotional work, massage, dancing, yoga, swimming, working with other participants, etc.) can be dangerous. I further understand that there are inherent and other risks and dangers associated with this group program (including but not limited to swimming accidents, campfire accidents, sun exposure, stings from bees or wasps; infections from bacteria, viruses and resulting infections or health conditions; etc.) I understand that accidents, injury, incapacity or death can arise in conjunction with participating in the above activities. I hereby freely and expressly agree to accept and assume any and all risks in connection with such activities.

3. I further agree to forever release, discharge, waive, save and hold harmless, indemnify, and defend “Karuna Retreats”, "La'akea Permaculture Community" and other program participants and staff, hereafter known as “Program Participants” from and against any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, actions and any and all medical expenses or other related expenses, including damage to my property, asserted by others, by me or on my behalf, my estate, executors, heirs, or assigns brought in under any theory of legal liability, including ordinary negligence, arising directly or indirectly out of any Program or related activities on the property.

4. If I want financial protections against personal injuries, I understand that I must obtain my own life, liability and medical insurance to protect my family members and myself. I understand and agree that this Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement is applicable to each and every day I participate in any of the above activities.
I understand that this agreement shall be binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns and shall be governed by Hawaii state law. This agreement shall be binding to the fullest extent permitted by law.
By signing this document, I acknowledge that if anyone is hurt or my property is damaged during my participation in this activity, I may be found by a court of law to have waived my right to maintain a lawsuit against “Karuna Retreats” or "La'akea Permaculture Community" or other “Program Participants”, on the basis of any claim from which I have released them herein.
I have had sufficient opportunity to read this entire document. I have read and understood it, and I agree to be bound by its terms.

5. Attendee Conduct
Camp reserves the right to ask me and/or my guests to leave any Event and/or retreat/hotel immediately should I/they be deemed rude, uncooperative, unprofessional, or disruptive. In such case, my fees for the respective Event or group in general will not be reimbursed.

6. I, the willing Attendee of ISTA, hereby accept all risk to my health and of my injury or death that may result from participating in the program and I hereby release Amara Karuna, "La'akea Permaculture Community", "Karuna Retreats" and its officers, employees, interns, contractors, sponsors, staff, teachers, and representatives from any and all liability to me, my personal representatives, estate, heirs, next of kin, and assigns for any and all claims and causes of action for loss of or damage to my property and for any and all illness or injury to my person, including my death, that may result from or occur during my participation at the event, whether caused by negligence of Amara Karuna, her staff, teachers, officers, employees, or representatives, or otherwise. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Amara Karuna and any third-party company from liability for the injury or death of any person(s) and damage to property that may result from my negligent or intentional act or omission while attending and participating in the event or organized events and activities. Under no circumstances will Amara or her assigns be held liable for my injury, death, illness, or any loss or damage of my personal belongings resulting from my participation in the event.

Should I require emergency medical treatment as a result of accident or illness arising during my attendance and participation in the event, I consent to such treatment. I acknowledge and I agree to be financially responsible for any medical or legal bills that may be incurred as a result of emergency medical treatment. I will notify Amara verbally and in writing if I am at any time injured prior to, during, or after the event in my travels or attendance, or if I have medical conditions about which emergency medical personnel should be informed; however, I understand that Amara is not legally obligated to act on that information in any way or to providing any medical service whatsoever to me. I agree that if I have any medical or psychological conditions that may hamper me from fully and healthfully participating in the event that I will notify Amara Karuna verbally and in writing of these conditions, to which, I further agree that Amara retains the right to ask that I not participate in portions of or the entirety of the event at her sole discretion and that I will willingly oblige.
