Guidelines:
Students may submit work that falls into one of the following categories: two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art, poetry or prose.
Each student may submit one entry for consideration. All qualifying work will be reviewed by a panel of judges.
Rules:
All work should be original and done without the help of teachers and parents, outside of basic editing and construction assistance.
Only original work will be considered. All books, websites, films, photographs, and artwork referenced or used in your entry must be cited.
Entries must respond to the 2021 Theme, Inspiration, and Prompt.
Entries must have a title and must be accompanied by a Statement of Purpose.
Students must enter with a sponsoring teacher. Please follow your teacher's instructions for how to submit your entry for a class assignment or extra credit. Entries submitted outside of class must still have a sponsoring teacher on your registration form.
All entries will become property of the Holocaust Memorial Center.
Entries that do not meet these guidelines and rules will not be considered.
Writing:
Written entries may not exceed 1,000 words.
Written entries may ONLY be submitted electronically as an email attachment to
competition@holocaustcenter.org.
The subject of the email should be the student's first and last names.
Written entries will ONLY be accepted as .doc or .docx files.
All written entries must be received by April 16, 2021.
Art:
Two-dimensional art entries may not exceed 18 inches x 24 inches, and must be submitted on black or white mat board.
Three dimensional art entries may not exceed the following measurements - height: 14 inches; width: 10 inches; depth: 10 inches.
The student's name must be written clearly on the back of the artwork.
A photo of the artwork must be emailed to
competition@holocaustcenter.org by April 16, 2021.
The subject of the email should be the student's first and last names.
Artwork may be dropped off at or mailed to the Holocaust Memorial Center, and must be received by April 16, 2021.
