The International Research Forum on the Philippines (IRFP) started as a gathering of Filipino postgraduate students (MAs and PhDs) in Australia as a research-sharing opportunity. Years later, the IRFP expanded its reach to include Filipino scholars and community leaders in the Philippines, Australia, and beyond. 

Spearheaded by the Filipino Australian Students Council (FASTCO) of Victoria in collaboration with Philippines-Australia Forum of the La Trobe University (PAF-La Trobe) since 2013, the IRFP has played an instrumental role in fostering critical thinking among postgraduates and early career researchers, promoting networking opportunities among scholars, and facilitating dialogue on pressing issues among community leaders.
