2023 DHS Beginning Band Instrument Registration
Congratulations, this is the first step in becoming a member of the band program! First, begin by watching the instrument demonstration video below to get an idea of how each instrument sounds. Next, complete the following registration form even if you already have access to an instrument.

Please consult with Mr. DeWaal if you are planning to rent or purchase an instrument FROM A SOURCE OTHER THAN a reputable band instrument company. Not all instruments are created equal--some may not be suitable for student use.

Please note that the bassoon and tuba are NOT options for beginning band. Also, students that choose percussion will learn the glockenspiel in fourth grade and the snare drum in fifth grade.

Instrument Choices
Please select three DIFFERENT options in order to enroll your student in the instrumental music program. Each instrument will have a pre-determined capacity limit and once that limit is reached, it will no longer appear as an option in the menus below. The only exception to the capacity limit will be students currently taking private lessons on one of the instruments listed below. In that case, please contact Mr. DeWaal.
