2024 ASTACAP "In-Person" Evaluations in Los Angeles Area
In 2024 in the ASTA Los Angeles Area Certificate Advancement Program for Strings we have evaluations for Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass and Harp students of all ages. THIS application page is to be completed by TEACHERS ONLY. Students, consult your teachers about getting an ASTACAP evaluation.

TEACHERS: The Registration Deadline: two months before the dates selected in 2024. Application is complete when payment is received and you are given email notification from the chair. When a schedule is already filled, you will be offered later dates. Check the availability of your piano accompanist BEFORE selecting a date. Although ASTACAP allows for accompaniment as "optional,” We highly recommend that students play with accompaniment since they don’t fully understand a work with half of it missing, but will not be graded lower for the missing half. Ask each student about possible conflicts such as school debate schedules, sports schedules, and commitment to this evaluation before selecting a date.

COVID PROTOCOLS: Effective immediately, we are changing our general masking policy to align with the current State and County Health Department’s guidance. Indoor masking will be based on personal preference and is no longer required. Those exposed to the coronavirus will continue to be required to wear a mask indoors for 10 days following exposure and masks will be required through Day 10 for those who have recovered from COVID-19 (tested negative after day 5). 

POSTPONING an evaluation after enrolling: for COVID diagnosis, an illness, or other serious reasons, your student may reschedule to a later date for an additional fee. This request must be done through the teacher's request to ASTACAP.LA@gmail.com 

TEACHER payment options:
1)  request an invoice sent to your email, which you may pay online with a credit card by 9 pm on the deadline
Or
2) send one check payable for the total amount of ALL of your students, payable to “ASTA - LA Section” mailed to Kay Pech, 10711 Ashworth Circle, Cerritos, CA 90703-2600. Must be postmarked at least 3 days prior to the deadline.

We are ALL volunteers. No one is paid to monitor your student or help your student tune and organize music books to hand to the evaluator. Please SHARE in the work! If you cannot be there, provide the name of the parent or accompanist who will help your students. If your student will need help tuning, just let us know.

REMINDER
1) Before you "submit" your information, be sure to PRINT a copy for yourself now, or at least make a note of what you've registered for each student. We will respond with a printout (pdf) of the info you provide us.

2) Note the fee and carefully add all of the fees for your student. You may 
• request an invoice and we'll respond with an email invoice to allow you to pay securely with a credit card online by 9 pm on the deadline date (email will come from "SQUAREUP.COM")
