Parent Information Form – Child’s Class Placement

Dear Parent/Guardians,

Our goal at Mirada is to build classes that will ensure the best possible learning environment for all students.  To achieve this goal, class placement decisions are made by a team of professionals who consider both individual and group needs. The following criteria are considered for establishing class placements:

Achievement Mixture     Ability Mixture             Comparable Class Size          Distribution of Boys and Girls
Cultural Identity     Group Dynamics     Language Proficiency          Parent/Guardian Input

Parent requests for specific teachers are not solicited and are not be used as criteria for placement. Classroom teachers and administrators work together to achieve balanced classrooms while considering individual students.
