11th Annual Lavender Graduation
What is a Lavender Graduation?
An inspiring and affirming ceremony that celebrates the achievements of graduating students in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and ally (LGBTQ+) community from Dickinson College.
Who participates in our Lavender Graduation?
Recognizing the challenging road to graduation that many students in the LGBTQ+ community and their allies face, the ceremony gives graduating students, family, friends, faculty, administrators, peers, allies, and significant supporters the opportunity to holistically embrace each student at the conclusion of their undergraduate journey.
Protected participation
We understand that some seniors may not wish to take part in the ceremony publicly - for these students we will still be able to offer you a rainbow stole, and certificate in advance of graduation. Contact lgbtq@dickinson.edu for more info.
When: Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5:00-7:00PM
Where: Stern Hall Great Room
What: The ceremony recognizes the achievements of each graduate and thanks their significant supporters. As part of the ceremony, graduates receive a rainbow stole and tassel from Dickinson and a certificate honoring their resiliency and courage. A reception follows the ceremony.
