Sinton ISD is in need of parent, community, and business representatives to serve as committee members for 2 district committees; the DEIC and SHAC.
DEIC is the District Education Improvement Committee. The DEIC meet twice per year (minimum) and serves as an advisory and decision making group for the District Improvement Plan (DIP) through a collaborative effort of principals, teachers, campus/district staff, parents, community, and business representatives . The DIP serves to guide Sinton ISD toward the improvement of student performance for all students in order to attain the state standard in respect to the academic excellence indicators established by the state of Texas.
SHAC is the Student Health Advisory Council. The SHAC committee is state mandated and meets 2-4 times a year. The committee includes parents, community/business members, and school staff working together to improve the health of all students and families through coordinated school health programs and its impact on student health and learning.
