The Township of Union Public Schools Summer Bridge Learning Camp is for students who are currently enrolled in the district for school year 2018-2019 and who will be entering Grades 1-5 in the 2019-2020 school year. The program will take place Monday-Thursday from 8am-12pm during the period of July 8-July 25. It will be located at Hannah Caldwell Elementary School, 1120 Commerce Avenue, Union.

The Summer Bridge Learning Camp will allow students entering Grades 1-5 for the 2019-2020 school year to participate in fun and structured activities that are designed to help students build grade level skills, improve social-emotional development, and allow them to engage in real-world activities and learning. Students will be exposed to various educational experiences including: Project Based Learning, STEM, Math & ELA skill building activities, and Blended Learning. Students will be given the opportunity to engage in activities that will both increase their grade level skills and allow them to grow socially and emotionally.

Parent Responsibilities:
1. Students must be dropped off by a parent/guardian. Transportation will not be provided.
2. Students must be picked up in a timely manner by 12pm each day and may not walk home from the program. Someone must be present at the school to pick up your child each day.
3. Please provide your child with a peanut free lunch each day. Lunch and snacks will not be provided.
4. The Summer Bridge program runs for 12 days. When registering your child, please be aware that he/she should be available to attend for a minimum of 10 days.

Student Responsibilities
Students will:
1. Come prepared and ready to work each day.
2. Exhibit appropriate behavior at all times and display respect for all peers and teachers. Failure to do so may lead to removal from the program.
3. Follow all rules and expectations provided to them by their teacher(s).
4. Participate in all activities to the best of their abilities.
5. Complete their assignments and work cooperatively with their peers during group activities.

The TUPS Summer Bridge Learning Camp is an excellent opportunity for your child to grow socially and emotionally, participate in STEM activities, improve in grade level skills in ELA and Mathematics, and engage in various projects across multiple areas of study.

If you are interested in adding your child/children to a waitlist for the Summer Bridge Learning Camp please fill out the questions below. If you are registering more than one child in the same grade level, please fill out a Registration form or waitlist form for each child. If you are registering more than one child that are entering different grade levels, please fill out the appropriate form based upon the grade that your child will be entering for the 2019-2020 school year. Please note that you will only be contacted if an opening becomes available.

As part of the Summer BRIDGE Learning Camp, teachers may bring their class to Rabkin Park, 1 Swanstrom Place E., Union for purposes of recess, social-emotional development, and other activities related to the Summer BRIDGE Learning Camp. Rabkin Park is within walking distance of Hannah Caldwell School.
