IBMN Summer Workshop 2023 Rescheduled

Due to forecasted weather conditions the summer workshop has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 9th from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

This year’s field experience will take place from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 9th (formerly Saturday, July 8th) at Kankakee Sands. Join us to practice butterfly identification, meet your fellow butterfly monitors, and share helpful tips and knowledge with one another. We will spend the entire time outdoors so please wear sunscreen, a hat, and bring plenty of water with you. This year we are hoping to see a get a close look at a few different fritillaries including the state threatened regal fritillary.

We will meet at the Bison Viewing Area. It’s just north of Enos and west of US Route 41. If you’re coming from the north take 41 south, past Lake Village to W 400 N. If you get to Enos you have gone too far.  Turn west (right) on W.400 N. Proceed west for one mile to 400 W. It will be the first intersection that you come to. Turn south (left) and proceed 1/2 mile to the drive into the parking lot, which will be on your left
