ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR SIXTH FORM

EGS Sixth Form places are prioritised for Enfield Grammar students. However, Non-Enfield Grammar School students are invited to apply and will be admitted into the Sixth Form assuming that entry criteria is met and there is capacity on selected courses.

Entry Requirements to the Sixth Form:

Students must meet the entry requirements for each course they wish to take.

GCSE (or equivalent) results will be used to determine which are the most appropriate courses for each individual student.

All students will have to take subjects in a minimum of three blocks excluding any GCSE re-sit.  Students are able to select a combination of A-levels and BTEC courses.

Please be aware all courses are dependent on sufficient student numbers, but as a school we will do all that we possibly can to ensure we are able to offer all courses selected by students.

Any student who does not achieve a Grade 4 in English or Mathematics has to take a GCSE re-sit course. Students wishing to take BTEC courses also require a minimum Grade 4 in English and Maths.

To gain entry to study Level 3 courses at EGS Sixth Form students require 5 grades of between 9 and 5.
 
In most cases to take an A level course students need to achieve at least a Grade 6 (or equivalent)  in the relevant courses. Please see course handbook on our school website for individual subject requirements.

To take A-level maths students must achieve a Grade 7.

Students are able to select a combination of A-levels and BTEC courses.

All courses are dependent on sufficient student numbers and individual student grades and blocks are subject to change. If a course is removed then we will inform students and offer alternative courses.
