The Mitchell PTA has organized the After School Activities Program utilizing third-party vendors, approved by Plano ISD. Parents who enroll their children in an after-school activity enter into a contract with the third-party vendor to provide the after-school activity. Mitchell PTA and Mitchell Elementary School are not parties to this contract for services.

While after school activities are held on the Mitchell Elementary School campus, Mitchell administration does not supervise the activities; it is not responsible for the planning or booking of the programs; and it does not oversee the discipline and management of scholars on campus during the programs.

In order to best support our scholars, we utilize the Plano ISD Code of Conduct to provide instructors and families common language and expectations for this program. The Plano ISD Student Code of Conduct (in English and Spanish) can be found at: https://www.pisd.edu/Page/947

Vendors must follow the Code of Conduct for behavior management as set forth by Plano ISD in the best interest of each child. Vendors must wear badges on campus at all times. If you see any adult on campus after school without a badge, report them to the campus administrator immediately. Keep our campus safe: if you see something, say something.

Volunteer chaperones are essential to the program’s success: One parent or volunteer (who has been cleared by the district on https://plano.voly.org/) will serve as a “volunteer chaperone” and will sit in each classroom during instruction as an additional layer of protection/supervision for both instructors and students. The PTA will primarily rely upon parents/guardians of children enrolled in the ASA Program to perform the role of volunteer chaperone. The PTA will create a sign-up form for volunteer chaperones after registration.

Be on time for pick-up. If approved adults pick up students late, the vendor, volunteer chaperone, and/or PTA may decide the child is not allowed to continue participating in the ASA Program.

Third-party vendors decide on and collect all payments upfront, and their policies for cancellations, refunds, and discounts or scholarships apply and are at their sole discretion. Vendors and parents/guardians discuss such matters directly and swiftly with each other. Some vendors may charge late pick up fees.
