Introduction to Mexican American Studies
This course is an introduction to the academic discipline of Xicano Studies in the United States. Students will learn about the foundational struggles of Xicano studies and will be introduced to the major theoreticians and theories underpinning our contemporary understandings of Xicana/o/x indigeneity. Students taking this class will engage in primary resource research and will assist in an active research project that investigates the creation of a Xicano Studies program.
