2019 Fall Dinner & Awards Gala - MARC DUBE INNOVATION AWARD Nomination Form
Everyone knows someone who works hard at making our communities a better place! This is your chance to recognize these people by nominating them to one of the awards we are giving at the 2019 Fall Dinner & Awards Gala this year! Self-nominations are encouraged and welcome!

Nominations need to be submitted to the Chamber Office by 4pm on November 1st.

About the MARC DUBE INNOVATION AWARD:

The Marc Dube Innovation Award is granted each year by the Cape Breton Partnership at the Strait Area Chamber of Commerce Fall Dinner & Awards Gala. Marc Dube was the Development Manager at Port Hawkesbury Paper when it was reopened by parent company Stern Partners following a difficult period of closure. His innovative, professional and compassionate approach to his work and community had a deep impact on the region.  This award is presented annually to a business, organization or person who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to innovation and business success.

Award Criteria:

Recipients of this award must be located in rural Cape Breton / Northern Nova Scotia and will have demonstrated a commitment to:
Inspired Leadership,
Creativity,
Problem Solving,
Risk-Taking.

Award Benefits:

Recipients of the Marc Dube Innovation Award will:
Receive two complimentary tickets to the Chamber’s Fall Dinner & Awards Gala,
Have an opportunity to speak at the Gala,
Be profiled on all digital media once recipient announcement is made,
Be profiled in the Cape Breton Partnership’s Elevate Magazine,
Receive a complimentary membership to the Chamber until March 31, and
Honorary “Member Level Investor” status with the Cape Breton Partnership until March 31.

Selection Committee:

The Selection Committee will be made up of 5-8 members, including a Committee Chair who will have a vote only in the event of a tie. Committee members will include:
Three Members of the Board of Directors of the Cape Breton Partnership,
A Manager from Port Hawkesbury Paper,
The President & CEO of the Cape Breton Partnership will be a non-voting member, and
The Executive Director of the Strait Area Chamber of Commerce will be a non-voting member.  
Note: All votes shall be done in person. There will be no votes by proxy. A quorum for meetings will consist of the Chair and any three voting members present at the time of the meeting. The selection of the committee shall be final.


Selection Process:

Nominations (including self-nominations) will be accepted until the stated deadline in the format of the template provided by the Chamber (attach additional pages if necessary).
Nominations should include details on how the nominee meets the specific criteria of the award (provide examples if possible).
The Selection Committee will meet to discuss/select based on fit with the criteria above.
The CEO of the Cape Breton Partnership (or designate) will contact the person selected for the award to confirm that they wish to receive the award before any public comment or announcement is made. If they decline, the Committee will select another person.
The award recipient will be announced at Strait Area Chamber of Commerce Fall Gala.

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS:  Nominations must be received at the Strait Area Chamber of Commerce office by Friday, November 1st at 4pm.
