“Te Uru Maire” - the Māoriland Youth Strategy unites film, creativity, innovation and technology to develop young Indigenous creatives for their future work as story leaders, creatives and entrepreneurs. Over the past 10 years, Te Uru Maire has resulted in the upskilling of over 100 young Māori filmmakers, the majority of whom are now working in the screen industry.
During this workshop, Māoriland's Youth Development Manager and Rangatahi Filmmakers - Ngā Pakiaka (Māori youth collective) will share strategies and resources for filmmakers, educators and community leaders to bring Te Uru Maire into their own practice with Indigenous youth.
