22-23 School Schedule and Calendar Planning
We are proposing the following schedule:
Staff begin as usual at 7:45 and work until 3:15.
Students report at 8:30 for breakfast. K-6 will have breakfast in the cafeteria as in years’ past. 7-12 will have grab-and-go breakfasts, which they pick up at the door. Middle school students report to the gym for breakfast, and high school students will report to a location to be determined. Breakfast will be under the supervision of our wonderful assistants. PARENTS WHO REQUIRE AN EARLIER DROP OFF DUE TO THEIR WORK COMMUTE. MAY MAKE SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE PRINCIPAL.
Students will be dismissed at 3:05 (elementary) and 3:10 (secondary)
Staff will participate in PLCs, monthly staff meetings, and personal planning for instruction, assessment, interventions, and enrichment during the 7:45 – 8:45 morning period.
This schedule would eliminate weekly early release days.

I would also like your thoughts on the school calendar as a whole. The Secretary of Education has requested districts consider one of the following:
Extended Learning Time (ELTP): 5 additional school days and the equivalent of 5 days' worth of hours (about 30 hours more of school time) for K-12 students
K5+: 25 more days for K-5 students, or 5-10 days and the equivalent of 15-20 days' worth of hours (about 82 - 110 more hours of school time)
K12+: This can be for either 10 or 25 days (same combination of equivalent hours outlined above).

Please let me know your thoughts on the times for the school day, and whether the district should add days to the school calendar by completing the following brief survey.
