F.A.M.E has been supporting music education at all grade levels of Westford Public Schools since 1983. It is a non-profit parent volunteer organization. F.A.M.E. ensures opportunities for both music teachers and students to enrich their educational environment through a variety of music endeavors.  Our goals are both advocacy and fundraising.   In the past, FAME has provided funds for things that were not covered in the school budget such as travel to music festivals, xylophones for elementary schools, and sheet music for the WA pep band.   Additionally, FAME has provided scholarships for graduating seniors who participated in WPS music programs, as well as scholarships for younger students to attend the Westford Summer Music Program.

In the past several years, the number of volunteers has dwindled and we are in jeopardy of having to shut down FAME.  Music programs are vital to student development and, in Westford, we have been lucky to have such great programs in our schools.   We desperately need parent support, from K to 12, to keep FAME going to support our wonderful teachers and their students.   Meetings are usually the 2nd Tuesday of each month and, as of now, are still being held virtually (for the sake of convenience).  The more volunteers we have, the less work it will be for everyone.
