This is a free online event organised within an Erasmus+ "Supporting Teachers who Support Student Transition (START)" project.
We aim to reach
(1) those teaching first-year undergraduate students,
(2) faculty/educational/staff developers who work with those who teach first-year undergraduate students,
(3) those in change of undergraduate programmes, &
(4) those who are responsible for promoting and rewarding inclusive excellence in higher education teaching.
This time, we would like to share
1) the "How good am I at supporting student transition?" Self-Assessment Tool which articulates behaviours students, academics & faculty developers find most helpful and effective in supporting diverse students in transition to Higher Education; and
2) the first elements of the “How can I help my first-year students engage, persist & succeed?” Handbook that offers tips about how to go about certain typical actions of first-year students that tend to leave academics at a loss.
As part of the funding rules, we will need to include the names and institutions of those attending in our report to the European Commission, so we kindly ask you to share this information with us. We are also asking for your email to be able to send you the link to the event.
The information collected will only be used for contact regarding this event and, if you wish, future related events within the project, and for reporting to the EU.
