1. I agree to a quick assessment by a staff member GMC Cycling to ensure that I am capable of riding an e-bike, to ensure my safety and the safety of others. GMC Cycling may refuse rental or terminate the rental while underway if in our sole opinion the renter cannot control the e-bike.

2. The minimum age to rent an e-bike from GMC Cycling is 18 years of age.

3. The renter acknowledges and agrees that they will be the only person who rides the e-bike.

4. The renter, plus any carry luggage, must not exceed 120kg per e-bike.

6. The renter accepts liability for damage to, or loss of, or repair of the e-bike, or of any other provided equipment.

7. The renter agrees not to take the e-bike off formed cycle ways and paved roads. If evidence of off-road cycling use is found the renter may be liable for a cleaning charge of NZ$30.00.

8. The renter agrees not to go into water deeper than 7cm, or just above the ground level tyre rim.

9. The renter agrees not to ride the e-bike in any saltwater or sand whatsoever.

10. The renter will ensure the e-bike is not left unattended or unsecured at any time.

11. Loss of the e-bike or of other provided equipment will incur a charge of the current replacement
Recommended Retail Price to the renter.

12. The renter will return the e-bike at the agreed time.

13. The renter has been briefed regarding Health & Safety and the functions of the e-bike by an
authorised staff member of GMC Cycling.

14. The renter must comply with all New Zealand traffic laws including but not limited to; Wearing a
helmet when riding the e-bike; Riding on the left side of the road or on a cycle-way; Obeying all
road signs and traffic signals; having blood alcohol lower than 50mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood.

15. The renter agrees to notify our staff immediately of any accident, incident, theft or damage. If
holding the e-bike overnight, the renter will ensure it is kept in a safe, secure and dry place.

1. An e.bike is still a bike. You must be able to ride a normal bike before you ride an e.bike.
2. Before riding do a quick check to ensure the brakes are working, the seat is the right height and the bike is in good working order.
3. Ride carefully to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
4. Wear a helmet at all times while riding the bike.
5. Keep to a safe speed and respect all general cycleway and road rules. Be responsible and aware!

1. Look after the bike and make sure you don't cause damage to the bike.
2. Return the bike within the allocated time frame.
3. Don't leave the bike unattended at any time unless it is securely locked and safe.
4. You are responsible for any intentional damages to or loss of the bike or equipment by mis-use.
5. If the bike is damaged or needs repairs please let the team know.
6. If the bike is lost, damaged or stolen you will be responsible for compensation up to $500NZD.

The renter acknowledges and agrees that GMC Cycling has no control over the operation of the e-bike by the renter. GMC Cycling assumes no responsibility for and cannot be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, third party liability or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any wrongful, negligent or accidental acts or omissions on the part of the renter; any defect in or failure of any vehicle, equipment or instrumentality owned, operated or otherwise used by the renter; any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of any other party not under the control, direct or otherwise, of GMC Cycling. The renter indemnifies GMC Cycling and employees from and against any and all liability arising during the rental period. The renter acknowledges that they are aware of the risks involved with cycling including but not limited to physical exertion, forces of nature, accidents, travel via any mode of transport, adequacy of medical facilities, or negligence on the part of employees, agents or others of GMC Cycling. The renter agrees to be responsible for their own welfare and accept any and all risk associated with the activities they undertake. The renter acknowledges and agrees GMC Cycling has the right to refuse a rental for not executing this document or other required documentation correctly.
