DMV Doulas & Medicaid Workgroup
The DMV Community Doula Project is committed to supporting the incredible birth workers that are improving maternal and infant health outcomes throughout the DC metro region. 

Our priorities are:
  • New standard of care for maternal health
    • standardize number of prenatal and postpartum visits reimbursable by DC, Maryland, and Virginia Medicaid
  • New standard of practice
    • Fair compensation
  • Development of "Legacy" pathway:
    • Ensuring there are enough doulas to service the community through alternative Medicaid approval pathways for experienced doulas
