Baltic Research Forum 2022 - Nation and Sovereignty Registration Form

The Baltic Sea Region is home to numerous cultures and societies. Through interdisciplinary scholarly discussions, the Slavic Reference Service and the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies seek to bring together scholars in all disciplines and stages of the research process to discuss the theme of  Nation and Sovereignty. Individual papers, panels, and roundtables may take on the many facets, forms of expression, ecosystems, and perspectives that shape the idea of a nation-state and sovereignty. 

Sub-themes of this iteration of the Research Forum include:

  • Language and Literatures  
  • Self-Determination
  • National Identities 
  • Foreign Policy 
  • Regional Security

Participants are welcome to present in any language, but we ask participants to provide an accompanying English translation of their remarks.

The forum will be held on October 13th-14th, 2022. Those interested in presenting should upload an abstract by September 19th, 2022 at 11:59 p.m., CST. Zoom details will be shared after registration.  Questions? Contact the Slavic Reference Service (srscite@library.illinois.edu)
