BBC's The Generation Project (Part 1)
BBC Capital, a global features site examining the changing landscape of work and life, is gearing up for a new installment of the Generation Project. This series that looks at particular trends, case studies, and moments that are shaping work and life different generations across the globe. We’re currently looking for globally-minded text and video pitches for the first segment of the project:

The new world of work
There are now more millennials in the workforce than any other group – and we’re drastically changing how people think about working life. For the month of August, BBC is going to look at the members of our generation radically changing the traditions of work. We’d also like to think outside of the office and literal workplace.

If you're interested in pitching, please be as specific as possible. We're not looking for stories on "the gig economy" or "remote work," but rather specific instances that are new and interesting and demonstrative of how our generation has altered the way we're working and leading. Stats and case studies help immensely.

You can find our author brief and video brief with a quick search, which will give you a sense of the kind of stories that are Capital’s DNA. Among the kind of stories that do really well for us are trend-bucking stories, stories about surprising statistics and extremes (i.e. “The only country where this thing happens”), and counterintuitive approaches to popular issues. We’re also excited about infographics and dataviz.

-A clear, strong, short headline that you would click on
-A descriptive pitch demonstrating how the story's main character or trend is demonstrating something unique, new, or surprising
