For the past number of years, we have been developing conservation plans to support the agricultural producers in our District. The California Department of Food and Agriculture is currently offering funding for the development of plans.
Gold Ridge RCD was awarded $225,000 in funding through
The Conservation Agriculture Planning Grant Program (CAPGP). This funding is allocated towards the development of various types of agricultural conservation plans related to the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) programs. CSA addresses risks that climate change poses to agriculture, including but not limited to, drought, uncertain water availability, increased temperatures, and increased pest pressures. The plans will promote CSA efforts helping to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, support agricultural adaptation to climate change impacts, and foster environmental and agricultural sustainability. The CAPGP funds the development of plans, not the implementation of those plans. The Gold Ridge RCD will provide technical assistance to agricultural landowners for the development of these plans.
We need your participation. Please help us gauge your interest in Conservation Agriculture Planning in our District.
