We're glad you want to help BFS by volunteering!

There are lots of ways that volunteers can support BFS and its programs (https://www.belfastflyingshoes.org/outreach/) --- Let us know which programs inspire you and how you'd like to volunteer.

For example, you might enjoy offering hospitality to performers. You might love moving chairs and lugging sound gear at our First Friday programs. Maybe you want to play in the All Comers Band, use your photography skills to document our programs, or help BFS promote our events. There are sooo many options!

Let us know how the (flying) shoe fits, and we'll try to help you wear it. :)

Tasks that happen *before* dance night (signs, posters, promo, arranging vols/hosts, other)

Load in & special set up projects (lugging gear into the hall, moving tables & chairs, etc.) - 4:00 pm

Set up at the dance (moving chairs & tables, posting signs, etc.) - 5:00 - 6:00 pm

One hour-long greeter shift during Community Dance (taking admission & welcoming) - Shift 1 5:45-6:45 or Shift 2 6:45-7:45 pm

Three greeter shifts during Contra Dance (taking admission & welcoming) Sit at the table during 3 dances in the evening (about 45 min total), sometime between 7:45 - 10:45 pm

Host out-of-town callers and/or musicians after the contras

Help the First Friday organizing team (envisioning, coordinating, etc)

Clean up and load out (moving lots of stuff while smiling late at night) - 10:30 until we're done
