Who is on the steering committee?
We currently have 4 parent/guardian members participating in the council, 2 District Representatives, and 1 Board Member Liaison.
Who is a part of the General Council?
We have 89 members of the Black Families General Council.
Why was the BFC implemented?
A supportive community is essential to the success of CCUSD's Black / African American students. The council intent was to have directly involved family members of which honor and embrace the identity and experiences of CCUSD's Black / African American students, and gives voice to the needs, goals and concerns of Black and African American students and families at the District Level. However the vision & mission of the BFC will be decided by the developing Steering Committee.
