Registration form - Course title "Eulerian numerical methods for computational fluid dynamics" (Code 035) - Lecturer Prof. Tullio Tucciarelli and Prof. Costanza Aricò
Language: English/Italian

Partial Differential Equations provide the functional relationship among the state variables of fluids in almost all the real environments. Given initial and boundary conditions, a solution discretized in space and time can be found by Eulerian methods, where state variables are computed in a finite number of points fixed in time. The short course will  offer an introduction to some traditional and advanced method for their solution.
Continuous Galerkin, discontinuous Petrov-Galerkin and Mixed Hybrid Finite Element methods, will be presented and applied to unstructured triangular 2D and 3D grids. The required properties of the computational mesh will be discussed, along with the definition of Delaunay and extended Delaunay property.
The new MAST-RT0 methodology for the solution of the Navier-Stokes equations in 2D and 3D problems within complex domains will be presented; application to synthetic tests  and comparison with experimental results will be shown.

The course will be delivered remotely, in a designated Teams room, on the following dates:

07/06/21: h 09-11
08/06/21: h 09-11
08/06/21: h 16-18
09/06/21: h 09-11
