GRO Trivia Sign Up
Sign up for the GRO trivia night! (Weekly on Thursdays 6PM ET)  PLEASE READ!!!!!!

guidelines:

1. Each group will be separated into teams through Zoom breakout function. When you enter the meeting change your name in the participants screen to be in this format: Name (Team Name). If you need to be assigned a team the format should be: Name ()

2. Scores will be determined after each question (right answer = +1 point). Wrong answers or failure to give an answer results in no points given.

3. NO INTERNET HELP. It's no fun for anyone if its not based on your own merit alone!!
SERIOUSLY ... its not cool. Learning new things is the best part and some of these questions are not meant to be common knowledge, thats the point of trivia.

4. If you would like to discuss the answer to a question please save it till the end of the night. The answers are double checked with sources, but there is a possibility you might read slightly different interpretations on Wikipedia. For the sake of time we can talk about it after the final question!

5. This isn't a spelling test so if you need to use approximate spelling or phonetic spelling its fine. If it is close enough I can figure it out. Also make sure your answer is clear. I'll accept the right answer in joke form, but they need to be clear!!

6.  Rules below and knockout round will still apply if a tie is the result. In the end THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.

Specifics:

How things are gonna work:
1. A representative from each group will be used as the communication point between the host and their team.
2. Each question will be broadcasted to all breakout room chats. The representatives will be able to hear the question verbally if they want.
3. Each group will have 90 seconds to discuss their answers and the representatives have 30 seconds after to get their answers to the host. Reps will send a private message of their answer to the host in chat once they re-enter the main room.
4. Ideally we will do 5-7 questions per Topic before switching.
5. After the last question is done (will be notified when question is sent out) everyone will be brought back to the main room and the scores will be announced.
6. If there is a tie between two or more groups a knockout round will commence

Knock out round (or sudden death round for the dramatic) rules:
1. The tied teams will be placed back into their breakout rooms
2. The same format will be in place, but only one group will be asked a question
3. If a question is answered wrong the group is eliminated and the next group will be given the same question (they won't know the other team's answers)
4. If all groups get the question wrong we will reset to before the question was asked and all groups eliminated by that question are back in
5. Winner is last group standing

Winner gets virtual bragging rights and possible future benefits in future events (We'll let you know if this actually happens)
