10-Day Accessibility Challenge Registration

Did you know?

  • Approximately 19% of college students have a disability.
  • Only one-third of those students will disclose their disability to their higher education institution.
  • Approximately 10% of UD students utilize support from Disability Support Services (DSS).
  • There are many students in addition to those registered with DSS who could benefit from accessible materials.
Join us for our 10-Day Accessibility Challenge to help you learn simple ways to make your course(s) accessible in Canvas.  Accessibility of learning materials is necessary for some students and helpful to all. Each day you’ll learn about one task through a short 2-3 minute video to help guide you in making your materials accessible. Topics for Canvas include: Headings; Heading Structure; Headings vs Text Formatting; Unordered Lists; Ordered Lists; Meaningful Links; Alternate Text; Complex Images; Color Contrast; Accessible Audio.

This challenge starts Monday, June 17th and concludes on Friday, June 28th. We’ll have a challenge wrap up meeting to reflect on the experience and congratulate participants on their efforts on the morning of the last day, Friday, June 28th via Zoom.
