To Parents/Guardians:
We are excited that the cross country team will be participating in the CESS Cross Country Meet on October 23th at Bear Creek Park, Surrey, BC. Students who would like to attend the cross country meet are expected to join KM Club and attend 2 of 3 runs per week. if students are unable to attend KM Club, they should come up with a training schedule with their parents in consultation with Mrs. Olding. Hope Lutheran Christian School requires each student participating in an Athletic Event to receive the written consent from their parent(s)/guardian(s) in order to participate. In addition, the School seeks to advise parent(s)/guardian(s) of potential risks of injury associated with the athletic event.

Date of field trip: October 23, 2019
Students will need to bring: PE strip, running shoes, athletic pants and jacket (dress for the
weather), snacks and water.
Departure time: 8:30 AM
Expected return time: 2:30 PM
Supervision: Mrs. Olding
Transportation provided by: Parent Drivers and Bus (if needed)
Special Safety Information/ Injury Risk: Injuries related to running, jumping, being outdoors,
and potential injuries related to athletic activities

I acknowledge that, while the School staff will take reasonable steps to prevent injuries to students, some degree of risk is inherent in the nature of this activity, and may occur without fault on the part of the student, School Board, its employees or agents, or the facility where the activity is taking place. By allowing my child to participate in this activity, I am agreeing that the activity described above is suitable for my child, and I am accepting the risk of injury associated with the activity.
My child and I understand that the Student Code of Conduct applies during the field trip, and I will be responsible for all costs incurred due to my child’s failure to abide by the Code of Conduct (i.e. cost to send my child home).
