Thank you for your interest in serving as a WMUx OLLI Teaching Fellow for the 2022-23 academic year. Please fill out and turn in this form by 11:59 PM on Monday, September 23, 2022. Also, please ask a faculty sponsor to write a short letter of recommendation to Dr. Gwen Tarbox, Director of the WMUx Office of Faculty Development at gwen.tarbox@wmich.edu. The letter of recommendation will also be due September 19. (See the application below for more information on selecting your faculty sponsor).

Keep in mind that in order to participate, you must be a doctoral student in good standing, have a year's experience at as a TA or instructor of record at WMU, and be available for all of the training sessions listed in the announcement.

Write a short personal statement where you address the following:

1. Any previous teaching experience at any level, including any online instruction or use of ELearning technology

2. A proposed title and brief description for an OLLI course

3. A statement regarding why you would find participation in the program to be of benefit to your professional development.

List one individual who has agreed to write a letter of recommendation on your behalf. Your sponsor should be a WMU faculty member who has been your dissertation and/or teaching mentor or supervisor. For example, the sponsor may be the departmental graduate advisor or director, the department chairperson, or any faculty member who has directly mentored or supervised your dissertation and/or teaching.

I am aware that $300 will be awarded to me through a scholarship directly to my WMU student account once all program requirements are met, and acknowledge that this award may impact my eligibility for financial aid.
