BSides Nashville 2024 Board Election

The BSides Nashville Board Election is scheduled for Thursday, November 21st at 6:00 PM Central. This will take place remotely via Google Hangouts. Please complete this form if you are interested in a leadership position on the board.

You may select more than one role if interested, and if you change your preferences before the meeting, that’s completely fine. Your responses will help us keep the meeting organized and focused.

President
- Serves as the executive officer of the board, overseeing all board operations and ensuring compliance with nonprofit requirements.
- Directs BSides Nashville's business activities and assigns responsibilities to voting members.
- Acts as the primary contact for outreach and community engagement.Leads conference planning efforts, including the Call for Papers process, ticketing, and merchandise logistics.
- Guides board meetings by setting agendas and ensuring critical topics are addressed.

Vice President
- Provides essential support for the President and covers presidential duties when needed.
- Manages event logistics, including venue arrangements, technical services, and catering coordination.
- Assists with sponsor relations and booth arrangements.
- Supports broader conference planning efforts to ensure smooth event execution.

Treasurer
- Manages the financial operations of BSides Nashville, including maintaining the budget and providing financial updates to the board.

- Oversees the checking account, tracks expenses, and ensures proper financial documentation.
- Handles federal and state tax filings and manages liability insurance.
- Negotiates key purchase agreements, such as event insurance.

Secretary
- Maintains all critical documentation for BSides Nashville, including accurate meeting minutes and organized records.

- Ensures compliance with filing and notice requirements and tracks important regulatory deadlines.
- Acts as custodian of both digital and physical records.
- Supports the board’s organizational needs and assists with conference logistics when necessary.
