The Delridge P-Patch in West Seattle has requested help delivering around 50 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to the White Center Food Bank every other week. This fresh produce that you will be delivering will be harvested fresh that morning by P-Patch volunteers. Using your bike to connect fresh and locally grown produce with your local food bank and the food insecure families that they support is a fun and quick way to have a big positive impact on your neighborhood while out riding your bike!
The Pedaling Relief Project is looking for 3 volunteers who are able to ride with us at least 1 Monday a month to help with these produce pickups.
The meet up point and time for this volunteer opportunity is at 5078 25th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98106 next to the garden shed at 10am.
You will need to be able to carry at least 30 pounds of produce on your bike using a rack, basket, panniers, or a backpack.
This produce rescue for the White Center Food Bank should take around 45 minutes to make.
