BHS PTO Volunteer Opportunities!!!

As part of the BHS PTO's support of our students, teachers and staff, we have several committees that help out in various areas in and around the school.  We are looking for a few more Committee Chairpeople and would love to round out the rest of our committees with volunteers!  

If you are interested in heading up a committee, feel free to find a friend and do it together!

Please check off as many of these areas that you are interested in helping out in, as either a volunteer or Chairperson.  Some committees involve simply dropping off donations or coordinating events while others allow opportunities to interact with students or staff.  Signing up here does NOT commit you to anything.  We will reach out to all volunteers to find out how much or little you are able to do.

BHS PTO Committees (check as many as you want)
Food Truck Days (Committee Chairperson and volunteers needed): Twice a year we have a variety of Food Trucks at BHS as a fun lunch alternative for staff and students.  Volunteers help coordinate with the various food trucks and/or help out on Food Truck Days. *
Scholarship Parking Lot (Committee Chair and volunteers needed): The PTO hosts a fundraiser parking lot at all home football games to raise money for BHS student scholarships.  Volunteers needed to collect money and direct traffic. *
Office Volunteers (Committee Chair and volunteers needed): PTO volunteers help out at BHS by assisting various faculty, including Administrative Assistants, College Counselor's office, library, nurse's office, etc. Most volunteer shifts are 1 or 1.5 hours/week.  Chairperson would help coordinate volunteers. *
Hospitality (volunteers needed): PTO hosts various events for BHS faculty and staff, including dinners on parent/teacher conference days, welcome breakfasts, etc.  Volunteers assist with homemade or store bought food and drinks. *
Teacher Appreciation (volunteers needed): At the end of the school year, PTO provides a week of Teacher Appreciation events and goodies for our BHS teachers.  Volunteers sign up to bring homemade or store bought food and drinks, make signs, deliver goodies, etc. *
Senior Day (volunteers needed): Right before graduation, PTO provides a Senior Send-off for our graduating students, including food, music, signage and activities.  Volunteers assist with planning and attending the celebration.  Prefer volunteers with students in class of 2022 and 2023. *
Scholarship (Committee Chair and volunteers needed): This PTO committee meets in the spring to review PTO Scholarship applications and discuss recipients.  May not serve on this committee if you have a senior student graduating in 2022. *
Food Days (volunteers needed): PTO hosts two designated Food Days where we sell discounted food items to students (pizza, donuts) as a PTO fundraiser and a treat for the kids.  Volunteers would sign up to work lunch hour shifts. *
On Call Volunteer: If you are not sure right now how you can help but would like to be involved in the future, your name can go on our "on call" volunteer list.  If we find we are short-handed for an activity or event, we will check with you to see if you can help. *
