Instrumental Music Families:

In October 2022, we will be hosting music students from Flensburg, Germany as a continuation upon the long relationship between the Easton Area High School Instrumental Music Department and the Altes Gymnasium.  Our schools’ jazz bands have long traveled back and forth between Germany and the United States to perform and learn from each other.  

This year, the German students will be coming to Easton, PA from October 10 – October 16, 2022.  It is a great opportunity for us to show them about our Easton tradition!  To make this event possible, we are seeking home stay placements for their approximately 40 members while here in Easton.  Host families do not need to be members of our jazz band.

How does a home stay placement work?
-  Students from Germany would be picked up at Easton Area High School on the first day of their arrival (October 10).  Travel would need to be provided for students to and from Easton Area High School on each day of their weeklong stay. 

-  Students would be housed with their host family overnight throughout their weeklong stay.

-  Host families would need to provide a breakfast (e.g. fruit/ cereal/ muffins) for students on each morning before dropping them off at Easton Area High School based on their itinerary. 

-  Housing two students (minimum) works well for helping the students feel comfortable in a new place.  Couches, air mattresses, or spare beds all work.  Each student would need to have their own bed/ air mattress/ etc.

- Any interested families must have clearances on file with the Easton Area School District for every member living in the household over the age of 18.
