Schools across the state are making plans to reopen schools in August. Currently, there is little guidance from the New Mexico Public Education Department. With that in mind, as this District continues to plan for a safe start to the new school year, it is important that we understand the thoughts, advice, and wishes of this community. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. This will help our District to better plan for the coming school year.

Which of the following is preferable for starting school in the Fall of 2020? *

Start as normal.

Start with two sessions to reduce number of students in school at one time ie: Group A-Monday/Tuesday; Group B-Thursday/Friday with supported lessons/assignments for days not in school, or some variation thereof.

Start normal but allow parents an option of enrolling in on-line or distance courses.

Later, normal start if it appears the state will open to large group gatherings.

HB 1, that is awaiting the Governor’s signature would require school districts to add an additional 10 days to the school year or provide a plan that demonstrates how students will have the opportunity to make-up educational opportunities they missed during the 2019-2020 school year.
