The Catamounts are pleased to announce auditions for our production of:

SMALL BALL

We are casting the following roles. (Please note: the stated gender corresponds to the gender of the character. We welcome actors of any gender to audition for any roles to which they may be well suited.)

1. MRS. HORTON, Woman, Any race or ethnicity, 40s-50s, Alto. Recently abdicated Empress of Lilliput, and the team's Director of Analytics.

2. PHIL JACKSON, Man, Any race or ethnicity, 40's-50's. Recently abdicated Emperor of Lilliput, and coach of his country's basketball team. 

3. PIPPIN, Man, Any race or ethnicity, Tenor. Assistant coach to Phil.  Former royal advisor. A psychopath.

4. MAGIC, Man, Any race or ethnicity, 20’s-30’s. A player and battler of giant rats. Bird's boyfriend. 

5. MICHAEL JORDAN, Man, Black, 20s or early 30s. Not THE Michael Jordan. A never-was
journeyman basketball player. Been bounced around the world playing for small market/small
country teams, and wants no more of it. He’s washed up on his last beach.

6. BOB, A Male Reporter, seated in the audience. One of our two non-Lilliputians. They sit with us, the audience, because, often, they are us -- our stand-ins, the spoken out loud voices in our heads as we watch the play. They’ve got questions.

The roles of BIRD, LILY, and LAURA have already been cast.

3. To be considered, e-mail your headshot, resume, and self-tape of 16-bars of a song demonstrating your vocal range (a more lyrical choice is ideal) as well as your performance of one audition side by Friday, July 15 to smallballauditions@gmail.com. A link to sides will be provided on the page that follows your submission of this form.

4. Callbacks will be held in person on Monday, July 18. We will email those we'd like to see read again within 72 hours of receiving your submission.

Your audition cannot be processed until we have all components. Thank you so much for understanding.

1. SAFETY: During this time of COVID, we will be adhereing to strict safety protocols to ensure actor and production team safety. This show is a in-person experience that will be staged adhereing to COVID safety protocols. We are casting performers who can verify that they have completed their COVID-19 vaccination, and will require weekly testing for the entire team.

2. REHEARSALS will be held September 26-October 22,  2022, approximately 20 hours a week. Rehearsal will sometimes be virtual, and sometimes in person. These rehearsals will be held at a TBD location in the Denver Metro area once the schedule is finalized. Performers should have reliable transportation. Should transportation be an issue for you, please contact us to see if we might be able to assist you.

3. TECH and DRESS rehearsals will be held October 25-28, 2022 in the evening and will take place at Buntport Theater. Conflicts with tech and dress rehearsals cannot be accommodated.

4. PERFORMANCES will be held at Buntport Theater from October 29-November 20, 2022.

--Performances will be held Thursday-Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 4:00 pm

--Conflicts with performance dates cannot be accommodated.

4. PAYMENT: Non-equity performers will be paid a fee of $2400 divided into four payments. We will consider AEA actors. The Catamounts engage AEA actors on Special Appearance contracts.

5. CONTENT and PERFORMANCE ENVIRONMENT: This is piece is a new musical, and performers should be adept at learning text and music, some of which will change during the rehearsal process. Performers should be comfortable performing in a a black-box performance environment.
