August 2024 Credit By Exam Administration - Registration and Parent Acknowledgement Form

Please submit ONE form for EACH test you are registering for during the August administration. Students must be a current student in AHISD or have completed the pre-registration process for the 2024-25 school year to take an exam. A student may not attempt the same credit-by-exam assessment for a course or grade-level subject more than two times.

If you sat for an exam in May, please wait for that test result before signing up again for the same exam.

As a parent, I understand the following: (Please read and check ALL statements) *

For ACCELERATION: A grade of 80% or higher must be earned to obtain credit and be accelerated. A student may not attempt (the CBE) more than two times to receive credit for a particular subject on the basis of an examination for credit in that subject. If a student fails to achieve the designated score on an applicable examination for a subject before the beginning of the school year in which the student would ordinarily be required to enroll in a course in that subject in accordance with the District’s prescribed course sequence, the student must satisfactorily complete the course to receive credit for the course. Passing credit by exam scores will be entered on the student transcript; however, the credit by exam grade will not be calculated as part of the GPA. Once a student meets the passing criteria, the student may not reattempt for a higher grade.

I understand granting credit does not imply the student has acquired all of the knowledge and skills that would have been derived from completing that grade level or course.

I understand that students testing in the middle of the year for a future course, will not move to the next level course until after the completion of the 2024-25 school year.

Testing will occur in person at the High School on Tuesday, August 6th (Additional details will be sent to students once the registration window ends.)

JUNIOR SCHOOL STUDENTS: Junior School parents understand that potential scheduling conflicts may arise between the Junior School and High School for high school level courses, which may result in the inability to fit the course into their child’s regular Junior School schedule.

I understand that my child may only take two Credit by Exams during the August test administration.
