Poimu is an anti-racist and feminist working space in Vallila, which has been running from January 2018.
In June 2019, Poimu expanded into the neighboring space and welcomed new members. At the moment we have 35 members who collectively run the space.

Price:
The rooms cost between 220-330€ per month, and can be shared between multiple people (this will be decided in dialogue with the current tenants).  

Hot desks are available from: 5€ per day / 20€ per week / 60€ per month

Our largest separate room is used as a practice space (for performance/rehearsals etc), which is rented between 8 people. It costs 58,60€ per month for approximately 10 hours of use per week. It can be used by other members, if not booked by the tenants of the practice space.

In addition to your room, you have access to 2 small kitchens with cooking facilities, 2 bathrooms (no shower), a meeting room / dining room (this can be booked for events etc), b&w printer, internet, light table, and sewing machine.

The space can be accessed 24/7.

Also good to know:

+ when spaces become available, Poimu prioritises applications from gender minorities, BIPOC people, and migrant people.
+ Poimu is an animal (dog) friendly space
+ the space and rents are governed by an association: Feminist Workspace Poimu Ry. When joining Poimu, you are required to be a member of the association, which also means contributing to the running of the space. Annual fee 20€.
+ there is a 1 month guarantee payment to pay before renting Poimu, which will be returned when you leave.
+ keys costs 20€.

The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with a push button.

In the facility:
The first lift is 155cm long and 107cm wide with an easy access, automatic opening door.
The second lift is small, 69 cm wide with no automatic door.
There is a larger, goods lift available to replace the second one. This has a 100 cm wide, heavy door with no automatic opening. This lift doesn't always work so please contact us for assistance if you need it.
Between the lifts there is a door way that is 95 cm wide, with a raised frame of 2 cm at the floor level.
The studio has two doors at its entrance, both heavy with a raised frame of 2 cm at the floor level, no automatic opening. First studio door is 86 cm wide. it opens with a double door if needed to 177 cm. Second studio door is 83 cm wide. it opens with a double door if needed to 114 cm.
There is a moveable ramp for the doors.
There are two non-accessible bathrooms available in the studio.
