When I Don’t Desire God (John Piper)
John Piper’s book Desiring God persuasively argued that “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.” But many people, after being persuaded, find that truth to be both liberating and devastating. It’s liberating to discover that God is for your joy. He wants you to be content in him. But it’s devastating to realize how far we fall short from a regular experience of joyful satisfaction in the Lord. So what do I do when I don’t desire God as I should? That is why Piper wrote this book and the question we hope to explore in our book club. The book can be found on Amazon (ISBN 1433543176). We will meet weekly on Tuesday nights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.
