Computational Drug Design Scientist
Acellera (www.acellera.com) is looking for outstanding individuals to join our drug discovery team and contribute to our drug discovery collaborations. This is an ideal position for computer-aided drug design enthusiasts with solid experience in structure-based drug design and medicinal chemistry.

Acellera was one of the first companies worldwide to leverage the use of novel accelerator processor technology (GPU) for molecular simulations. Among our clients, we count 10 of the top 50 pharmaceutical companies. We were selected as one of the Top30 AI Drug Discovery companies in 2019. Our software includes PlayMolecule, ACEMD, HTMD, KDEEP, etc. and it’s used by users both in academia and the private sector. Responsibilities:
- Provide computational chemistry/modeling support to active drug discovery projects.
- Engage in cutting edge scientific research, both internal and in collaboration with customers to optimize the drug discovery process via state-of-art simulations and machine learning methods.
- Work closely with the internal software development teams to improve Acellera's drug discovery technologies.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- PhD in computational chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, physical chemistry or alike.
- At least one postdoctoral experience related to pharmaceutical chemistry and structure-based drug design
- Experience in experimental validation of designed compounds
- Additional experience in any of the following molecular modeling areas: virtual screening, computer-aided lead optimization, ligand-based drug design, molecular dynamics, homology modeling, cheminformatics, ADMET and QSAR/QSPR
- Excellent English communication skills

Desired Skills and Experience:
- Exposure to one or more other disciplines of relevance to drug discovery, such as synthetic organic chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, formulation, biochemistry, physical chemistry or analytical chemistry
- Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Experience with programming and/or scripting languages and/or chemically aware databases
