Senior Boehm Media Fellowship Terms and Conditions

Our intent is to be transparent and align expectations.  This document explains what we expect from you and what you can expect prior to, during, and after Opportunity Collaboration.

Fellowship Goals
*  Leverage opportunities for the social impact community to engage in their work more quickly, more fully and with more knowledge.

*  Provide ongoing opportunities for those engaged in social impact initiatives to connect with experts/professionals from the media sector, and for those in the media sector to build relationships and networks to further collaborate on impact driven missions.

*  Engage fellows in personal and professional development opportunities to better understand, capture and share mission-driven impact across beliefs, borders, stakeholders and countries.
Prior to attending the Opportunity Collaboration
Senior fellows will collaborate through video conference calls, emails, Google docs, and Slack. From April - September, senior fellows will contribute 7-10 hours of their time. *
Fellows should expect to join 1-2 hour meetings at least once a month.  Additional time will be spent for preparation and collaboration.
Senior fellows are expected to be available for meetings and deadlines from April  - September,  especially in June and July.  With senior fellows input, deadlines and meetings will be determined and communicated in advance. We strive to accommodate everyones schedules as we understand that senior fellows have other commitments and travel plans particularly during this time. That being said, it is important that agreed upon deadlines and meeting dates be honored. By agreeing to participate in this fellowship, you agree to be available to meet all deadlines and communicated in advance if you're not able to. *
Senior fellows will guide and support a new fellow by answering questions, sharing experiences, framing the OC experience, and providing feedback on sessions. *
During the week of Opportunity Collaboration
Senior fellows will attend the Boehm Media welcome reception. *
Senior fellows will attend the Boehm Media closing reception. *
Senior fellows will provide a minimum of 12 hours of service. This includes attending the opening and closing receptions, leading or co-leading onsite media sessions, and supporting both new fellows and delegates through one on one and other types of support. *
In between scheduled commitments, there will be opportunities to engage with other media fellows and delegates. We expect senior fellows to make time for this as part of the hours of service.
Following Opportunity Collaboration
Senior fellows will identify and share relevant content and resources (articles, blogs, websites, tools, etc.) to expand the media knowledge of the OC delegate community. *
Senior Fellows will provide feedback on the fellowship via a survey and through a feedback call with one of the Media Coordinators. *
Fellowship Logistics
*  Boehm Media Fellows receive a $3,540 scholarship to cover their Opportunity Collaboration conference fee.

*  Fellows pay a refundable $250 administration fee. The administration fee will be refunded following attendance of the conference.

* Fellows receive a reasonable stipend to cover airfare expenses. Stipends will be based on average airfare costs from the location of origin. Upgraded flights or last-minute bookings costs will not be covered.

*  The fellowship includes all onsite costs: 4 nights lodging (Sunday – Wednesday), all meals Sunday through Thursday, gratuities, airport shuttle, etc.  Note: Media Fellows receive their own rooms and are welcome to bring companions including children. *  Fellows are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents, including a travel visa from the Dominican Republic government, if required. The Opportunity Collaboration provides Fellows with a formal invitation letter for use with immigration authorities.

*  Cancellation: All Opportunity Collaboration delegates pay a non-refundable $250 administration fee.

*  Practice self-care
   -   Beyond your commitment to the fellowship, please honor self care. Opportunity Collaboration is in a beautiful location so that you can rest from the business of life. You do not have to be in sessions and in meetings all day long.  

*  There is no expectation or obligation for you to provide media services following Opportunity Collaboration to Delegates as part of your commitment to the Boehm Media Fellowship. It is entirely up to you should you decide to.
Other
Professional standards are important to us.  Here are some that we want to bring to your attention.
We understand that promoting your services is a professional priority, however we ask that self-promotion and/or promotion of your organization/brand not occur during Boehm Media activities. *
We've selected you not your team.  We ask that you personally attend calls and prepare sessions rather than delegating, even if you are presenting a body of work that was developed by a team. *
Professional standards are important to us.  We ask that if you are sharing work that is not your own that you would cite sources. *
