Many questions about the CBC program are addressed on the ISSP website, so please read over the information there before asking your Coordinator a question:
https://isspinfo.wordpress.com/Please note:
1) This application is for taking a college class afterschool AT the college, mixed in with college students.
2) You must have at least an overall B average (3.0) throughout high school.
3) Depending on the pandemic, NHPS may not allow in-person CBC classes in Fall 2021.
You must also interview (via email or phone) with an ISSP Coordinator in addition to completing this form, even if you are a returning student. Completion of this form and/or interview does not guarantee acceptance.
If accepted to move on past this initial application, you will receive further information about completing required applications and forms for your high school, including a 2021-2022 College Before College Contract, and for your specific college program, so maintaining email contact with your ISSP Coordinator is essential. All high schools have programs at Gateway, Southern, and Yale, but some may have other programs available. You will be referred to appropriate programs by your ISSP Coordinator.
Acceptance by NHPS and by the college program does not guarantee that you will be able to register for a class, as high school students register in August after the paying college students are all registered. Fully accepted students will receive further information about searching and registering for classes after all their high school and college program paperwork is submitted and their acceptance is confirmed by both NHPS and the college.
NEW students MUST ATTEND all required Orientations and/or Registration events run by the college, which usually take place in August BEFORE high school opens and may be in-person or virtual. RETURNER students may be required to attend Orientations and/or Registration events, or they may be able to register online after a certain date, depending on the college's process. ALL students must have completed the college's placement process and have their potential courses approved by their ISSP Coordinator PRIOR to registering. *Further details, including Date/Time for Orientation and/or Registration events, will be communicated to accepted students by their ISSP Coordinator and/or college program director over the summer.
