Voting Rights Restoration Attorney Volunteer Sign-up
In 2018, Florida passed Amendment 4. The new law provides a mechanism to restore the voting rights for individuals convicted of certain felony offenses upon completion of their sentences. However, some individuals still face certain obstacles to having their voting rights restored due to their inability to pay fines, fees, or restitution. In Miami-Dade, several agencies have partnered to establish a process to expeditiously address these cases and review whether a sentence has been completed. Most people with felony convictions qualify for a court determination that the sentence is complete without a court hearing. Some who owe fines and/or restitution will need to appear in court and need attorney assistance. If you are a Florida licensed attorney, please sign up below to express your interest in receiving further information about how you can assist individuals with having their voting rights restored.
