The Guild’s mission is to take responsibility for promoting original art work as a collective group of South County Artists and Supporters who will affirm, critique and sustain a personal investment in their art/craft through mutual respect and appreciation of their varied and eclectic interpretations.

Membership Requirements:
•  You must be a resident of, or work in, Southern Anne Arundel County, Md, which is defined as being south of the South River.

•  An artist is defined as a person who practices or performs any of the creative arts such as painting, photography, ceramic art, pottery, woodworking, carving, etc.

•  Your art must be your own, original creation

•  This is a volunteer organization.  Members are expected to contribute to the success of the guild.  This can be done in many different ways

•  MCAG Show Standards must be met if selling your art.

Benefits:
MCAG Artistic Members will:
•  Have full access to attend monthly membership meetings, special events, lectures, trips,
and professional development opportunities
•  Have opportunities to promote their work on all MCAG platforms, including the website and social media
•  Participate in MCAG’s annual Guild pop-up exhibitions and suggest other small show opportunities
•  Have full member voting rights, including the right to offer their name in nomination to the Board.

After submitting your application, please take photos of 3 pieces representative of your work and email them to MCAGMembers@gmail.com along with brief descriptions for each (including but not limited to media and process, how they represent your body of work, etc.)

Once your application and photographs are received, we will email you to confirm we have received all your information.  New Membership review panels are done once per quarter (Jan, Apr, Jul, Dec), normally on Saturdays.  You can view the next scheduled dates on the Membership page where you found this application.

We will contact you to schedule your in-person review session where a panel of artist members will interview you and review your work.  Please bring along 3 pieces of your work for review.  

If you are accepted, you can pay your $40 dues immediately via our online app: SQUARE.  (A $2 fee is added for online processing fees) or you can bring a check with you, payable to Muddy Creek Artists Guild.
