Why are you asking? - Many group exercise instructors leave their profession within 12 months of qualifying for various reasons.  We are trying to understand the bigger picture and what the reasons might be.

Do you feel the general public, including the participants you teach, as well as government bodies and employers, have an understanding of the time and financial investment you put into your profession?

What are the most time-intensive aspects of your profession?

If you teach face to face, how much do you estimate you pay for travel (either public transport or petrol) to teach a class, or per block of classes?  Please include any parking costs.

Why are you asking? - We are raising awareness of the costs many instructors have to consider. 
Approximately how much do you spend on training resources, such as licensed programme subscriptions, personal development courses, marketing workshops etc., per year?

Why are you asking? - We feel most people are not aware of all the financial investments instructors make to deliver each amazing class.  We are trying to build up a picture of what each class truly costs to teach. 

Do you ever suffer from burnout, multiple injuries or exhaustion and if so, how often?

Why are you asking? - Instructors are great at putting on a great show, despite how they might feel inside. We are keen to know how often you might have to 'fake it'.

If you choreograph/craft your own workouts, how long does it take you on average? 

Why are you asking? - In our experience, crafting a workout can take a long time!  We are keen to know if this is just us! 
The following questions only apply to those who are self-employed and teach workouts as a business (i.e. for those who set their own prices, arrange venue hire, do their own marketing to attract clients etc.) 
How much do you charge per class, term or month for your classes?  

How much do you spend approximately on marketing (such as social media ads, posters, sponsored search etc.) per month to attract new clients?

Why are you asking? - Fitness is incredibly competitive, and with so many options for people, we would like to know if this is another financial investment self-employed instructors have to consider.

The following questions relate only to those who teach group exercise classes in gyms. 
How much does your gym pay you to run a single class? (please state if it's 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour)
