Opera Together live for grades 4-12 --
The Elixir of Love!
This fall students come together with professional artists to perform a 50-minute reduction of Donizetti's classic comedic opera, The Elixir of Love. Masterfully designed for young audiences, the English language production features professional singers and a pianist alongside your own students in speaking and acting roles, and an optional chorus of any size. Students memorize lines, music, and staging in advance, are coached by artists in dress rehearsal adding props, costumes, and scenery, and perform for the school and community. This program requires a champion at the school to help guide the students in preparation.
The “Tech Track” Add On
This year we encourage students to explore a “Tech Track” along with our Opera Together, Book to Bravo! and
Voices for Social Justice
residencies. Ideally engaging a
separate classroom, these activities range from video projects to architectural
and product design to scientific engagement and discovery.
• Create and edit a behind
the scenes video
complete with original
music, images/animation and more!
• Explore architecture, fabric
and textile manufacturing, pattern making and dyeing.
• Research elixirs, scents,
and magical potions,
and create your own.
• Measure and create blueprints for scenic models and lighting
design.
• Grow your data science skills while assessing
production progress.
